Vintage military garments make up a big part of the Rubato Archive, not only because they feature special and interesting details or were made for very specific purposes but also because they were made from rugged and hard wearing materials that grow better with age and wear.

We did not have to search far and wide to find inspiration for the latest product. Drawing inspiration from different Military Shirts from the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s we took all the best details and put them together to make our take on a classic. It features a 40’s style Point collar, double chest pockets, epaulettes and pleated back for comfort and ease of movement.

Made up in an 8oz Japanese Vintage style Cotton Twill this shirt is made to be worn hard and will only get better with age. The chain stitching on placket and sides along with the reinforced side gussets and chain stitch run-offs are not only period correct details but also contribute to making a shirt that is virtually indestructible.

It pairs equally well with shorts in the summer as it does underneath a tweed sports jacket in the colder months. This spring we will be wearing ours with the Rubato Ecru jeans but no matter how you choose to wear yours we encourage you to wear it hard.
